MINUTES OF
COMMITTEE MEETING

April 2009

Friends Meeting House.

Welcome from The Chair: Sarah Griffin
(in the Chair) welcomed everyone present.
Minutes of previous Meeting :

Dave would locate and send the name of the
library contact person
Chris confirmed there
was no speaker from Douai Abbey
Sarah is receiving
suggestion for constitution and voting procedures
Minutes accepted.
Item 1 : Feed back from last event. It was agreed that the event had been
extremely successful and people had enjoyed the participation in the
worship. One suggestion was that more
time be allowed for questions and answers.
Item 2 :
Website. It
was agreed that the website would have a public launch at the June event. Swami Ambikananda was happy to lend her
projector and screen for the event for use by both Dave and Anthea at the
event.

Sarah would begin a news column
David McKnight would
resource colours
Swami would take
photos of places of worship in and around Reading for the website.
David McKnight asked
that ‘religion or belief’ be adopted in the wording and it was
agreed.
It was agreed that
only the Chairperson, Dave and Bruce would be able to log-in
Item 3 : Next Event Trinity : Dr.
Hugh Boulter would be speaking and Sarah had contact the Bishop of Portsmouth
for a Catholic speaker.

David would make a poster for the event.
Swami would do the
Press Releases.
Item 6 : Any Other Business.
Faith Reps :
Sarah said she was concerned that we still did not have representatives from
the Seikh community and Swami Ambikananda offered to contact Ashok again in
this regard.
Sacred Spaces Event : Anthea would be speaking and a Quaker
speaker, Ken Baker, would also be making a presentation.
The Chair thanked
Bruce for the printing of the leaflets.
The
next Committee Meeting would be on the 28th
May 2009.
The
meeting closed with a moments silence.
